Our conference deans and ministry directors recently brought forward a proposal for a synodical covenant.  This is an attempt to make explicit the relationship that exists between congregations on the one hand and the synodical administration on the other.  It grew out of the context of our discussions about structural renewal.  Synod Council have given their enthusiastic endorsement to the idea and authorized me to tell you about it.

The relationship between congregations and the synod could be compared to a marriage.  Like most relationships
